Take a look at the video of people using a program called Edusim. It is a free opensource 3D multi-user virtual world specifically for a classroom interactive whiteboard. Computer Lab NewsEighth grade is currently working in Photoshop to learn how to manipulate photos. They are learning the techniques that professionals use to create magazine and web pictures. Right now we are working on animated gifs using Photoshop. Students are using multiple layers to create an animated graphic.

Seventh grade is working with Google Sketchup to build a 3D model of a Greek structure. We are looking at polygons, rotation, shadows, and fog. New computers with graphic cards and dual processors have allowed the students to use this program without the computer freezing up and long wait times.

Students are learning about the fundamentals of game creation. They are using a program called GameMaker used in a number of educational institutions to develop games. We are currently looking at random x and y as we begin to build a scrolling game. We are also expanding on if statements.

Students are reviewing using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 to make slide shows. In Sixth Grade we will be using advanced features to create custom animations and retell a Bible story. In fifth grade we will review the basics and do an introduction to custom animations.

Students will be introduced to PowerPoint 2007 and create a sllideshow about things they are thankful for. We will be going through the basics of slide creation, transitions, backgrounds, and inserting clipart.

Students are creating a web-based student newspaper. They are learning about writing articles as well as how to make the newspaper interactive. Look for the online version soon. We are using Publilsher 2007, Frontpage, and Moviemaker for design work.
