Northshore Christian Academy’s beautiful 33 acre campus and 130,000 sq. ft. educational facility is conveniently located off of major highways, nestled in a quiet neighborhood community, close to the Everett Boeing plant with a majestic view of Puget Sound.
Northshore Christian Academy began in 1995 and is one of the fastest growing schools in Snohomish County. We have a student body of over 800 students (Toddlers, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade). Our Childcare Center offers full and part time Toddler, Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes. Please refer to the NCA, Preschool and Childcare Center materials.
Northshore Christian Academy is a ministry of Northshore Christian Church. We are approved by the Superintendent of the State of Washington. We are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NASC). We are a member of the Washington Federation of Independent Schools.
Northshore Christian Academy includes families from as far north as Arlington/Stanwood and as far south as the Seattle area. Our students represent over 70 different churches. We also admit students from families who have no church affiliation.
All Kindergarten through 8th grade classroom teachers are State and ACSI certified. Many have or are working toward advanced degrees. Certified specialists teach technology, music, fine arts, physical education, and foreign language classes.
Our students tend to receive more attention and learn more effectively in our moderate sized classes. We provide an educational assistant to many of our elementary classes for part of each day.
Curriculum
NCA uses material from a wide variety of publishers to meet the needs of our students and our academic objectives in each grade level. Please refer to our Curriculum Guides and Middle School Course Descriptions for details.
Parents provide transportation to and from school. Carpools are coordinated within the parent network from areas such as Marysville, Lake Stevens, Mill Creek, Snohomish, South Everett, Lynnwood and Mukilteo.
Foreign languages are a vital part of the quality Christian education we are developing at Northshore. Spanish is required for all KF-5th grade students and is a Middle School Elective. French or German Club has been offered as an after school club.
Two 25-station computer labs are used for state of the art instruction and practice. Students also have access to computers in their classrooms and in the library. The program is developed according to a technology plan outlining sequential development for the next five years. Our primary goals are to teach basic computer use, keyboarding, programming, web page design and basic video game design to all students. Students are also taught to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Web Design, Photoshop, Game Design and PowerPoint.
All Kindergarten through 8th Grade classrooms are equipped with document cameras, digital projectors and Promethean Boards (interactive white boards). For more details go to www.prometheanworld.com.
Northshore students and parents initiated our school library in 1997, and it has been growing ever since. In 2006 we received a $15,000 library grant. Many non-fiction books and new computer were added to the library. We currently have over 21,000 volumes, plus a large selection of books/cassettes and videos. Students and their families are encouraged to make use of these resources. Accelerated Reader and Accelerated Math are part of the library resources.
Northshore Christian Academy’s tuitions are affordable and we work hard to maintain a balance between the cost to our families and the expenses associated with providing high quality student programs. Tuition for Kindergarten through 8th Grade is paid on an eleven month basis from August–June. Discounts for families who have more than one student enrolled at Northshore are given to the second and third child’s tuition rate. Please refer to our Early Learning Center materials for tuition rates for Toddlers through Pre-Kindergarten.
A non-refundable Application Fee applies for each child who is new to NCA. A non-refundable yearly Registration Fee is also required. The Material and Technology Fee is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable. This Material Fee covers technology curriculum, paper, art supplies and field trips/Middle School Retreat. Please refer to the Tuition and Fee Schedule for details.
Students are required to take an entrance assessment when entering kindergarten and higher. It is an assessment of academic abilities to assist the administration in the placement process. This testing is covered as part of the application fee.
All students in Kindergarten through 8th grade wear uniforms. Please refer to our uniform information on the web site.
The school calendar is full of exciting events! Each spring all students, 1st grade through 8th grade, participate in the Stanford Achievement Test, which helps compare their overall progress with national averages. Our most recent results show that our students have scored approximately two years above the national averages on the exam.
Pre-Kindergarten is for students who are preparing for Kindergarten the following school year. This includes both students who are at least 4 years old by September 1st and those who are 5 years old, but who are not yet ready for Kindergarten.
